Formed in 1951, the Treble Choraliers is the oldest women’s vocal ensemble in the New York State Hudson River Valley. We are a non-profit, sponsorship-supported arts organization dedicated to performing women’s choral music.
We are currently 30 voices strong with members from Greene, Columbia,
Albany, Rensselaer, Dutchess and Ulster counties. Our members
come from diverse backgrounds and musical experience, united by
our common love of choral music. Our youngest member is in
her twenties; our oldest is in her seventies.
Our repertoire and arrangements for musical tastes are wide-ranging
and eclectic and include: Early Music, Ethnic Folk Songs, Gospel/Spirituals,
Jazz, Classical, and Musical Theater. Composers represented
in our recent concerts include: Randall Thompson, Cole Porter, Mozart,
Irving Berlin, Brahms, Duke Ellington, Roy Orbison, Benjamin Britten,
Gustav Holst, Bach, and Faure.
